1st stereo amp (ADVICE NEEDED )

hi, i am looking to purchase my first stereo amplifier. i have currently got a sony qs av amp wired up to a sony qs cd player with mission 771 speakers, but i am looking to get a more stereo dedicated set up. the only problem is do i buy old or new..........?

i have a budget of aroud 300 pounds but pretty flexible for the right amp

i have heard good things from the marantz 6003 i think it can be had for 250 at richer sounds

or do i go the ebay route and get something a little better ............?

Hi Mark,

I would be going down the second hand/ebay route if I was you. My MF A3 was bought second hand as was all my gear and the amp only cost me £280 and its a really lovely sounding bit of kit.

I managed to pick up my A85 last year for £285. A clear step up from the budget crowd.

Id recommend going to a richersounds or wherever and trying them for yourself. But sure, a good stereo amp should blow your av amp away for music (Assuming its a cheapie one)
