1080P VS 1080I

Is there any major difference between the two formats, with the naked eye as opposed to on paper?

Depends on the screen size. I have 20/20 vision, and i can't tell the difference on a 42in at a comfortable viewing distance. On a 50in it is definately noticable. Best thing to do is get yourself to a retailer.

you may see a slight difference between faster moving HD images
