1 week old Panasonic TX-P50V10B scratched screen!!!

I took the plunge and bought one of these.

Mounted it on wall yesterday and noticed now that it was higher there was some marks just below the top bezel.

As I believed them to be on the outside I used the cloth supplied to try and remove but alas they were on the inside.

Unfortunately I caught the glass with my little fingernail.

Would you believe, I scratched the glass.

So I have emailed Panasonic about both issues, easy scratch glass!!! and marks in between front and inner glass.

I think I have marked the anti glare coating but surely it should be tougher than this as they advertise it as a VIERA Tough Panel?

My last one never did this and all the consumer Plasmas at work dont do this.

I believe I have a sub standard anti glare coating.

I will let you know how I get on with Panasonic, lets hope its better than with Sony!!!

good job i didint buy one then!!

but i noticed this 50 inch was about the same size as a 46-inch screen from inside if measured diagonally and then a regular 46-inch sony or samsung were just the same

but get onto panasonic hopefully they should sort it

Ya 50 is about the same as 46...in fact 4 inches separate them on the diagonal.

Panasonic are replacing the 'filter' as they call it but I would call it the outer glass sheet.

They actually found something else wrong too.

The top bezel was not seated correctly.

All in all a good show by Panasonic.

It is definately a 50" TV by the way and not 46"

And for any doubters out there! It is a superb TV as well especially with BBC HD. Life was amazing. As was Hancock on Blu Ray.

Ferris Buellers day off on Blu Ray was superb too. But check out the size of the Floppy Disc he puts in the keyboard? Funny as you like. The Ferrari looks stunning in Hi Def. A whole new world.

You can pay £800 more for the Pioneer 5090 if you like and I agree the Kuro is very good but its not £800 better? In fact if you can still get that deal its probably more like £1100 with the speaker!
