I am in a dilema as a have a Z11 on home trial, as it is a dem model I have been ofered it for £3300.00 but I wonder if a Z7 would fulfill my needs.
The Z11 took ages to set up as I mentioned in a previous post ,the auto setup screwed the EQ which I have now resolved, now it sounds very good indeed but, how much better than a Z7?
Any savings could go towards a new projector, but for now the amp is my key purchase.
Any comments would be appreciated
Regards
Andy

I'm not trying to scare people off, just giving an opinion. If you have a £4k package, then I'm just not sure the jump from Z7 to Z11 is really necessary. Any remaining money could be put towards a top-notch Blu-ray player. It's only a suggestion...

I agree with Andy. Obviously the Z11 can and does sound awesome powering a more affordable package, but to enjoy what it's truly capable of (for music as well as movies) you'll need a top-notch speaker set-up.

Yes, the Z11 is a big step up from the Z7, but that propels it into a different league of partnering products, too. (Mind you, £3300 is an EXCELLENT deal!)

£3300 is an alright deal.....

It may be the retailers against the reviewers here on opinion, to me the Z11 is a good step up from the Z7 and the benefits can be heard on most speaker set ups.

That said in this instance adding a projector to the OPs setup will produce huge gains to the overall enjoyment and it may be a better bet to sacrifice the Z11 in favour of that or another upgrade. With £3300 to spend that leaves around £1400 for any potential purchase, stretching that a bit further and the projector options start to get much wider.

Agreed - if a Z7 is owned, a move to a quality projector would be a more enjoyable upgrade than moving to a Z11 - although that would be recommended at a later date
