Hi there,

I've recently ditched my old pana dvd/surround system and replaced it with a DMP-BD35. This will be linked up to my viera 46pz81b,no worries there then,he says!!. However,i quite fancy the idea of bolting a soundbar into the set up and had in mind the yamaha ysp-600. I have read the mags review but just wondered if anyone out there has got one and their opinions of it ,good or bad. With the amount of hifi gear ive got knocking about in the lounge this seems to me like a viable option to upgrade the sound from the tv. Ok a good home cinema system will blow it into the weeds, but im not sure my ears can withstand giving the female one another good listening to.

Any input will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for that hans,to be honest i took a flyer and ordered one which should land at my place on friday. However it appears that i shouldnt be overly dissapointed with it. I got it for a brilliant price (well i thought so) and ive taken note of the subby code number just incase i also find it lacking in the bass dept.

I don't think you'll be disappointed so long as you bear in mind the price and the limitations of soundar technology compared to true surround systems. The subwoofer I bought is the lowest power in the yamaha range designed to complement the YSP projectors, but it fits on my rack nicely beside the dvd player, and I didn't have space to put a floorstanding subwoofer behind the TV rack (and putting it at the side of the room would have been a non-starter with the other half!)
