I want to buy my son surround sound for christmas and seen this amp at richer sounds for £149 and thought i could buy this and a subwoofer(i already have some tannoy sfx 5.1 speakers) .

My question is has anyone any experience of this amp, and what is the best sub to get for approx £80-100. thanks

The HDMI inputs on the 365 are for video switching only. So if your son, at some stage, want's to play bluerays, he won't be able to get HD audio. You can still connect by an optical lead and get standard Dolby Digital and DTS. The first in the Yamaha range to do audio via HDMI is the RX-V465.

I haven't checked recently, but HIFIX used to sell the sub for the Tannoy SFX set as a separate item at around the price you're talking about.
