Yamaha RXV1900- HDMI Picture Qulaity

Have just upgraded my Onkyo Tx-SR605 to the Yamaha RXV 1900 but am not happy with the picture quality when passing my BluRay player through it. Having tried various setting and setup my old receiver again, I've found the Onkyo slightly improves the picture quality by making it brighter, sharper and improving motion. Has anyone else experienced similar problems. Whilst I like the improvements in sound, am gutted over the picture. Any suggestions or ideas ?

The signal from your Blu-Ray player should simply 'pass through' untouched. ÿIt shouldn't need 'improving', but it won't be degraded either unless something is set incorrectly. ÿThere must be something wrong in the chain from your player to the TV with some sort of scaling going on. ÿCan your TV accept full HD and 24fps?
