Hi to all,

Have run YPAO set up but seem to get nothing through the sub and the dislpay only shows L & R front speakers. Theres no display that I am getting 5.1 HD audio, though I am hearing from all speakers bar the sub.

Set up went well, system check says crossover is at 80hz.

Why is the sub no firing and why am I not being told what I am listening to???

Thanks in advanced!

Hi there,

Sorry if this is obvious, but does it fire when you run the test signal? This is the last option in the manual setup option in speaker setup.

If it doesn't then in speaker configuration double check subwoofer is selected in LFE/BASS out option.

Or it could be that you've chosen two channel stereo in music mode on the remote?

Hope its something this simple. Not the most intuitive of amps!

Will

Hi wil,

thanks for the reply. Yes it does fire in set up, and snce posting, its does fire, but not one i have 'pure direct' selected? Should it?

I sill can get it to say pro logic 2, it does show the 5.1 speaker symbol, but should be stateing 'HD master audio'??

Its seems a great amp, but your right its not the easiest to play with!

nick , turn the subs volume to zero , turn the frequency to max , play something bassy , turn up the volume slowly until you feel the sub is doing enough , and redo the auto setup.. thats what my dealer told me , and the sub is working fine..

Hi Nick

As Pure Audio mode bypasses the receiver's eq function, I think you will only get two channels when playing music. This won't be true with Blu Ray/DVD, which obviously use a dedicated LFE channel.

Hope this helps? I think if you just engage the standard stereo mode you should get output from the sub when listening to music...

i dont think the yam displays the current audio output , dolby true hd , dts master etc , ive not seen it , i think whilst watching a dts master audio bluray , all the presets are disabled , you can engage pure direct though..

Pure Audio, Direct Audio... most modern day receivers have this choice. It's for stereo playback. It isolates the function from everything else. You want the receiver set to auto (or similar) and this will give you the best option for each source. Then, if you want to play some music, you can try Pure Audio.
