Hi - currently running Neat Motive's all round(2s at the front, 3s rear and matching centre with a Yamaha 3067 receiver and Denon.

Looking for a more dynamic sound (may be down to the fact that the Neat's aren't the most sensitive speakers at 85db) so thinking of an upgrade to the Yamaha.

Options I'm considering are Yamaha 3010 (will this be an upgrade?), Arcam 400 or Anthem MRX500.

Also considering keeping the reciever and adding a power amp such as Audiolab 8000X7 to drive the fronts.

Not to interested in networking capabilities - apart from movies all it will need to do is play music from an ipod.

Any thoughts or comments welcomed.

Cheers

The Anthem with a power amp will give you a big improvement and you wont need the MRX500 if you are going to do that the MRX300 will be ideal. We use this as processor regularly with great results matched with all sorts of speakers. We have not matched with the Neats before but I see no reason the room eq wont get the most out of them.

Hi Nick – thank you for your advice.

I guess budget wise I’d either be looking at a second hand Audiolab 8000x7 or Rotel RMB1565 if I go down using the anthem as a processor.

Is there anything else I should consider?

Would you advise the MRX300 + power amp over the MRX500? (I’m guessing costs will come out at £1500 for the 500 Vs £1800 for the 300 + amp)

Cheers
