Yamaha RX-V1800 advice

I got my new amp yesterday its the yamaha rx v1800 i love it, i connected it all up and everything works perfectly. I have freeview HD and for some reason when i go on the cable input it doesn't pick it up and i click pure direct i can here the audio but no image but when I click off it i just get a blank screen. But every now and then it will pick it up its really weird anyone got any idea please help thanks.

I haven't had any problems with ps3 :/

im using HDMI cable i just cant understand why it doesn't come on the playstation is fine no problems i have played with the settings and still nothing.

Do you have any ideas?

Not sure if I can help. Someone will. Please expand. Ps3 to hdmi1? Freeciew box make? Connected to hdmi2? Do u get picture with pure direct or just sound? What do u get with standard and straight? One HDMI from jammy to tv yes?

the ps3 is going through BD/HD DVD i think that is 1. the freeview box make is tecknica lol rubbish i know but its only tempory. i get just sound with pure direct on and no picture i cant understand it.

standard and straight doesnt seem to make a diffrence :/. jammy ??? is that amp if so yes i have 1 HDMI from my amp to tv.

Firstly route the freeview box thru the ps3 connection. HDMI 1 and then connect box to tv bipassing the Yamaha. This will determine if its amp settings

Swap cables to incase HDMI cable.is faulty

Won't pure direct only carry one signal, either audio or video? I have a pure direct on my bluray & when pressed turns video off & just sends audio, press again reactivates video & audio but turns off display on unit, third press to turn all hdmi functions off & next press places unit back to normal settings. It may be also worth checking setup page of free view HD, my parents have one that changes function of hdmi out to both audio & video or just audio / just video.

Yamaha pure direct cuts out all processing electronics but video is not affected.
