Yamaha RX V1067 vs. RX V2067

Hi WhatHiFi Team & Fellow Members.....

See... I dont really need the superior video chip of the 2000. I'm more concerned about sound quality & sound output....

1067 is rated 105 watts

2027 is rated 130 watts.

I read somewhere that if we need to double power we need 10 times more watts. So to if 1 = 100 watts then 2 = 1000 watts.

1. So here there is a difference of only 25 watts....!!! So how much difference can 25 watts of 2067 make over 1067 as far "sound quality & sound output" is concerned....??

As you saw on the other thread you started, rated power is almost meaningless. It depends on the speakers you are using and how much sustained current your amp can produce. PLEASE don't buy a receiver on the number of watts it might output.....it means almost nothing.

FWIW, there is an even greater difference in performance between the RX-V3067 and RX-V2067 then between the RX-V2067 and RX-V1067.

Thanks for such a great detailed reply for the differences between 1067 & 2067. It makes the difference much more clearer for me to understand. So its not just 25 watts more & a HQV Video chip... Its also a much more improved & detailed sound.
