Yamaha RX-677 YPAO setting for 5 channel

I just purchased a Yamaha RX-677 to go along with my BOSE Acoustimass 15 Series II. I installed everything as a 5.1 setup and then tried to use YPAO. When starting, it indicated my AV was setup for 7.1 and indicated I should go to one of the Settings and change it to 5.1. I have looked and looked at the User's Guide, but found nothing on how to set the "channels" to 5.1.

Can someone shed some light on this for me? I would really appreciate it...

You need to go into the 'on-screen' menu and select which speakers are connected. See page 97 to 101 in the manual. I have an earlier Yamaha AV amp and it's fairly straightforward, once you get into the swing of it. The 'Basic' setting shown on page 100 seems to be the appropriate one. Good luck.
