Well, it's all action in the AV receiver market - Yamaha has now made quite significant cuts to the cost of its range (and its soundbars, too). More details here.

I received an e-mail from my local sound shop stating Yamaha prices are going up by between 5 to 7.5% by end October. I'm getting a RXV 3800. Guess they want me to buy now...

Maybe coz i'm in Africa!

Pity RXV3800 isn't on the list of pricecuts.

The RX-V3800 can be had for £769 but not in black in the UK.

In Europe the prices are still high.

The DSP-AX863SE is £499.

Here in South Africa the RX-V3800 goes for the equivalent of £1350

If only they'd done this earlier the 763 could have been in the Group Test against the Onk 606 and Denon 1909, instead of the 563.

Comparative testing doesn't end with Group Tests - we'll be re-evaluating everything before choosing our Awards (including looking at exciting new models from other manufacturers that didn't make that original test).
