Yamaha as500 running in period

How should it sound when running in a Yamaha as500 amp? I ran the amp for 2 minutes and there was quite a distant sound and more bass wass definately coming from the left speaker. I turned off because of this. Before i got this amp i used my Cambridge A5 and stupidly disconnected the speaker cable at the the right speaker end. No volume or music playing. Could this be related.

My AS500 sounded rough out of the box and impoved enourmously after a week of playing. However the problem you have sounds something apart from running in problem. I would check your cabling to your speakers. The sound should be the same out of both speakers even if the unit has not been run in yet.
