Yamaha A-S300

Everyone is raving about the A-S500 amp. What about the A-S300 ? Somebody heard it ?

Yes the Yamaha A-S300 still offers an impressive spec - 95W compared to the A-S500's 120W (RMS values). Comes without the record out selection feature on the front, but still offers the same impressive build and almost the sonic performance of the A-S500. The sound isn't quite as clear or as well timed as the A-S500 to my ears, but it's still a budget champ

What's wrong with another Marantz? Thought you liked the amp unless your tastes have changed.

Matched with a pair of "clear" sounding speakers it's just sublime IMO for bedroom listening.

There's nothing wrong with Marantz. I just want a different sound 😉

Also, the C316BEE and A-S300 are damn cheap

I heard the A-S500 amp and thought it was a bit too much forward sounding, a bit aggressive if you like. I quess the A-S300 will sound the same. I think I'll go for the NAD this time.
