I'm referring to the signature DC4Ts and DC6Ts.

went to this other site where all other brands were mentioned except Tannoys! so I couldn't help but wonder since I was quite keen on the Tannoy Rev Sigs 🙂

will they pair well in a pure stereo set up? I ask because I'm not sure if they are "audiophile" speakers. if that really means anything.

the recommendation was to pair DC4T / 6T with the Denon 2310

I don't immediately need a HT set up - my immediate needs are music, but when the need arises, I'd like to be able to watch movies with better sound than my Samsung 32" offers

I'd say they're music speakers first and foremost yes. They're an update of the Tannoy Revolution R2s (and the bigger R3s) I used to use in my main stereo setup. You should listen first (preferably at home with your amp), but I'd expect them to be very good...

would it be too much for a 3.2m x 5.6m room? all are wall-to-wall measurements.

IMO Tannoy are one of the best speaker manufacturers of all for music and always have been. Like KEF they have a very long history of making superbly musical products and their success in the home cinema market has in no way diminished their standards in the 2-channel market.

I have the DC6T's upsidesunny. Yes they are a very good musical speaker (I would imagine the Dc4's are too). And the good thing is when you get around to buying the matching home cinema speakers, the speakers that match it are great as well.

But don't take my or anyone elses word for it, try and audition some.

Oh one word of warning, they do take some running in. Be patient.

yes, I'll probably try to audition those again. dealer's suggesting to marry it to the Denon 2310.

right now, my concern is whether or not my space is too small for it, or for any floorstander for that matter!!!

You dont mention your room size but I would generally say that providing you can physically accomodate them they will be fine. I have my sterlings in a room no bigger that 12' x 15' and they work well. Certainly provide a room filling sound.

Oooops....just saw you room sizes in an earlier post and based on that I would say go for it...
