We all aspire after home cinema perfection in our homes, but I'm longing to get out and soak up the carnival atmosphere of the World Cup in the local bars around London. Searches on the internet do not bear fruit, so what better than ask you guys your thoughts on best set ups you've seen. Screen size/type/model, atmosphere, sound all a must mention. Feel free also to post for other regions in the UK.

I've heard from colleagues on our sister mag, FourFourTwo, that this website will have details of which pubs are showing the World Cup games (in any area), with contact details/channel options. It offers details for the upcoming 14 days, however, so doesn't have the World Cup details just yet. Not exact details of the facilities, either (hence the contact details, I guess!)

Don't know about elsewhere, but most of the pubs round here have got signs up allowing you to pre-book tables for the big matches

I went to Millenium point in Birmingham for the last world cup. It was absolutely brilliant, at the time they had the largest screen in Europe. It was packed, really hot and there was a great atmosphere. Everyone was friendly (drunk!) and we even had the one and only Tony Christie belting out Amarillo live before kick off! Not to everyones liking but it was quite funny. Apparently during the following game the huge screen blew over with a gust of wind. In hindsight I suppose they should have realised a screen of such size would effectively be like a giant sail! I'm not sure if there are any plans for this years world cup but I intend to find out
