Hi all, Parents now have their new Sony KDL-32W5810, they have Sky+, a DVD player and a VCR to hook up.

What i want to know is the correct set up regarding HDMI, scarts, component leads etc, it is all a bit of a mess how it was originally, so i want to tidy it all up, thanks in advance.

If it was me I would hook up the Sky + via HDMI, the dvd player by componant (if it has it, if not RGB) vcr RGB or Scart as a final resort.

Not sure how to link the video in to all of that mind you. Not too familiar with the Sky + box, can it output HDMI andscart simultaneously??

Without makes and model numbers, we might as well just say you need to wire it with 'cables'. The Sky+ box needs to be connected from the TV SCART to the TV (usually AV1) and set to RGB/16:9 and SCART control on.

Connect another SCART from the Sky+ to the VCR from the VCR SCART to the SCART in on the VCR. Then run another SCART to the TV from the VCR.

For the DVD player in order of quality use HDMI, Component video (Green/Blue/Red plus Red/White analogue audio) and SCART (set to RGB). What DVD player is it? What connections are available?

Do you have enough SCART inputs on the TV to achieve that?
