Hello there, I have a question that keeps bothering me.

I want to acces my music files that are stored in my hdd on my desktop system from my Laptop that is placed in another room. I could just keep moving on my external hdd from one computer to another but I have found another way by connecting the two computers over wifi on a private network. That way I can acces my entire desktop of my central computer from my Laptop.

I use Jriver for music playback with the option of memory playback ticked on.

Would be there any loss of quality because of the wireless network accesing of the files?

Or this connection is there only to link the two machines?

Thanks in advance for your help.

You mean that the file is still playing from the hdd in the central pc and the network just makes the accesing posible? Am I getting this right?

Pretty much
The file is being sent of wireless network in its full form, all the 1s and 0s are there, whichever computer that catches them just presents the file to jriver for playing. It's just another way to be presented to the media player for use
