No, For the simple reason that its ridiculously expensive. I've had a demo on a Panasonic Plasma and the glasses are cumbersome and uncomfortable and detract from the overall viewing experience. Which is nice, but certainly not as awe inspiring as the ads make out.

I also had a demo on a Samsung Led 3d telly and that was astonishing. Barely noticed the glasses, the picture and whole experience was just like nothing I have seen before and if I was loaded, had no mortgage and could afford to fritter away a few grand on a new toy, then I'd buy one tomorrow.

Yes I'll look like a complete idiot, but I can always close the curtains.

"Only foolish people would actually WANT to sit with silly specs on whilst watching their tv"

If you are comfortable and you feel it is an enhanced experience I think the foolish person is the one who cares what they look like in their own home sat on the sofa no?

3D is just a gimick ... here and now because of the movies ..... NO ONE would want to wear specks to watch tv , that'd be plain stupid.

It's a passing phase and those with money to 'burn' will maybe entertain it ... but normal folks won't.

Completely disagree. I've been to see a number of 3D films at the cinema and not once did I feel stupid of uncomfortable. Just like HDTV's from 5 years back, early adopters will pay the premium and as development and production costs go down, it'll be more accessible to the rest of us. As I said in a previous post though, the content (TV, Blu-ray and games-wise) will take time to arrive so indulging in 3D at the moment is not a wise move. In 3 years time, maybe. Just not now.
