If it is left on for too long? Last night I was listening to music and fell asleep, and I woke up at 7.30 and turned the amp off. I'm wondering if the tubes are subject to damage if they overheat?

no should be fine - my valve amp says ideally let it cool down after 8 hours of continuous use - just turn it off today and let it cool down and then you're good to go again, don't think it will cause any harm once in a while
