Will Cyrus CD6se work with Rotel/KEF setup?

Hi,

Does anyone know if the my current setup will benefit from the new CD6SE. Rotel RA-05/RB-06 (bi amped) KEF iQ5's and Rel T2? I know its a bit of an overspend but will prob upgrade to full Cyrus in 2-3 years, plus my current RCD-06 just doesn't cut it.

In my opinion, the 'weak link' here are your speakers. The KEF's may be a bit too bright. Nice amp combo. Maybe go for something like ProAc, Spendor, Dynaudio or even Monitor Audios.

Hi,
You're right, the CD6SE is a bit of overspend compared to your existing set-up. However, if it's the first in a series of upgrades it should all work out. The Cyrus is way better sounding (in my opinion) than the RCD-06 you have. Make sure you have a listen before you buy, though.

Cheers, would you agree that the KEF's would be too bright to work with Cyrus? I would have agreed with other previous Cyrus kit, but they seem to be less on the lean side these days.

I will probably change the speakers eventually anyway to something like Neat Motives or PMC GB1's.
