Who is it that likes old Celestion Dittons?

thanks gpi ... those are nice, but I'm after their big brothers ... the Celestion Ditton 66's ...

have too many other things to get right now, (need to service my amp, then get good cabling, then connect spotify to my hifi, then .... then ....etc )

but should hopefully have a pair by easter next year ...

those 25's are very good speakers, look like they are in good condition and will get a good price ... a good 100 watt+ amp will be excellent for those

here is a pic of the 66's next to a 'conventianal speaker' showing the difference in size of the drivers ... you need a large room for these with a powerful amp to bring out the best ... will make excellent main speakers in a cinema/tv setup

not sure of the make of the thinner speaker, but it is also large as the ditton 66 stands 1 meter high

They are big aren't they. I wouldn't get too concerned with the number of watts an amp produces on paper. Amps rated at just 25 wpc can have more punch and grip on large drivers than many so called more powerful amps rated much higher. Investigate Quad's current dumping technology as one example.

Yeb, just look at that car park on top of one speaker! I bet it took a while to drive all the way up there.
