Which to get Plasma or LCD

I have just sold my old 43" pioneer plasma that I've had for 4 years and want to get a new set. I've looked at the following:

Panasonic TH-46PZ81B or 42"

Panasonic TH46PZ85B or 42"

Samsung LE46A656

Sony 46W4000

Really not sure what is the best option to go for. Will be using for movies mainly for Blueray so advice will be greatful.

Hi there, HCC in their mag put the Sony KDL46W4000 up against the Panasonic TH46PZ85 and the result was a big thumbs up for the Sony.

To be honest, I can never fathom why people expect others to tell them which TV to buy. My advice is always to go and look at all the sets you are considering and make a decision on which looks the best to you - not which one has the better spec on paper or the best review in whatever magazine or on whatever website. Trust your own eyes - after all they are the ones that will be watching it!

I wouldnt trust my eyes. My problem is few shops with little on display (models) And the old topic poor staff knowledge.

Hi there,

Too expensive really. I paid £4250 for mine about 4 years ago. Although a great plasma I don't have the budget.

I am looking to buy everything, receiver, speakers and sub and blue ray so I don't want to go too mad.

I'm having a demo down at sevenoaks hifi on saturday. Can't wait!!
