Which speakers for my home cinema

Hi

After quite a mix up on buying new gear, i am now looking to buy some speakers for my system.

Which is a kuro 5090 , a denon 1910 and a sony 760 Br.

Due to restrictions on what they must look like ( the wife ) i have narrowed it down to three sets. This is not final and i would really appreciate your views and even experience's on this subject.

I know it might look like i'm buying all whf's best buys but being pretty unexperienced and also reading many reviews and forums i don't think i have gone too far wrong.

The three systems are :

Kef KHT 2005.3 £700

Kef KHT 3005 SE £1000

B&W MT-25 £950

Obiously any other speakers you would recommend would also help ( £1000 being my limit )

You are obviously going for a style speaker package and considering your budget, the B&W MT-25 fits the bill perfectly.

If you want to save some money, and haven't factored in the cost of speakers cables etc, then I would urge you to also consider the new Q Acoustics 2000 Cinema Pack at £550.00-£650.00 (depending on the finish).

These are not quite as discreet, in size terms, as the MT-25 and will require speaker stands though.

Assuming that you need to stick to "style" speakers, the Tannoy Arena is well worth looking at, if your wife likes them.

They are a rival to the B&W MT-30, but whereas the MT-30 is still the price it was four years ago, the Arena has come down a bit, and also now included the subwoofer from the next set up, (Arena Highline 300).

When I demod the Arena was a clear step up from the 3005SE, (detail, musicality), and the MT-30, (better high frequencies for films and music). While not easy to define, the Arena also seemed to give a more cinematic (rather than surround) sound than the other speakers, and was also less fatiguing.

The Monitor Audio speakers are more boxey, but also worth a look, (though I've never demod them).

The Monitor Audio is slightly over your budget, but definitely worth a listen. I've got the Radius HD, & they're simply awesome!! Like they say, boxy design never goes out of fashion

Or you could go for the earlier "Radius" version (not Radius HD) which can be bought for a bargain.
