Which speaker stands do you think look best?

i am struggling to see the appeal of wood and metal combined.

simple designs like dynaudio no4 are my shout but i understand the wood thing if the rest of the room dictates it

but just go all out wood, expensive i guess if custom made solid hardwood but probably no more than full rrp on good hollow steel branded ones.

caveat, if you know good a joiner who does custom work.

It just looks a bit too 1970's caravan for my tastes. Just goes to show that aural as well as visual taste can differ greatly from person to person, all of which adds to the rich tapestry of life.

Had I got to use wood I probably would design something like an inverted 'S' with the top half smaller to suit the speaker.

Layered birchwood or similar. This would have the added advantage of good dissipation.

Not easy to make though I would imagine.

What a great idea. For more rigidity and to hide cables there could be a near central hollow pole.
