Which Oppo was it?

Which Oppo model was the one that has a massive reputation as a Giant killer ($500ish about a year ago?) and Can I buy it in UK?

I am a 2 channels only man so AV, DVD stuff never was my bag, any help would be greatful?

oppo bd83 i think ..

edit .. thats a blu-ray player , didnt realise this was in the hifi section , although it does play almost everything you can throw at it , including sacd,s ..

Oppo bdp-83se has improved psu and dacs over the standard model. It retails at $899 in the States, but it is often considered an even greater bargain due to its performance with music. Any improvement in the video section though. Take a look at manufacturer's site for details and availability.

I assume you mean the BDP-83, TM.

Dont believe the hype though... Its a very,very capable universal player but its no 'giant killer'.

Its not 'officially' available in the UK, but yes they're available as grey market imports from a few dealers.
