Personally I'd never pay full RRP for an AV receiver. They reduce in price by 30 to 50% in 10 months, so either wait until the models you mention come down in price and save yourself some dosh to put towards better speakers, or get a much higher level machine for the same price, albeit with one or two minor 2013 features missing (are you really going to need that 4k upscaling???)
Here are some stonking machines you might look at that were originally around the £800 mark that can now be picked up from the likes of Richer Sounds or Sevenoaks for around £400 to £500;
Pioneer VSX-2021 (an amaaaaazing bit of kit (although I admit to being toootally biased))
Pioneer SC-2022
Yamaha Aventage RX-A810
Yamaha Aventage RX-A820
Having said all the above, your choice really ought to come down to the speakers you choose to pair with your receiver, ensuring that their combined tonal balance is to your liking.
