Hi Everyone.

I´ve been reading, looking in the shops and its not that easy to buy a new Tv. There are so many details etc...

Well now I have 2 models that I think are very good but which is the best?

42LG6000 Scarlet or Samsung LE40A656

What I`m going to watch mostly are Dvds and Blu ray so please help me out!

Thanks

Hi there

We haven't tested one of the new LG 'Scarlet' sets yet, but do have one in to test for our Ultimate Guide to TV, which comes out 5th June.

However, we have tested the Samsung, which is a superb set - full review here.

Can I also ask why you are specifically looking at LCD sets? There are some terrific 42in plasmas around....

Well, I beleive that the Lcd will be better, because I have a large window near the Tv set. Therefore there will be a lot of light on the Tv.

Do I have other choices? Is there any Plasma Tv that will have better image and quality. Thanks

OK, fair point re the window - though the latest-generation plasmas from Panasonic and Pioneer do have an anti-reflective coating, which several posters on these Forums seem to think works well.

I'd look at the new Panasonic plasma range (and, if your budget can stretch, the Pioneer Kuro 42in while it lasts)before you buy: typically better motiion-handling and black-levels than even the best LCDs.

Thank you Clare

What Iïve read in the Forum is that the best one is the Panasonic 42PZ85, but what about the logos that some chanels have, will it give me any problems? May I use the ps3 without any fuss? Because the details on this model are great.

Thanks again for your help

You'll be fine - I wouldn't go on an eight-hour games marathon in the first few weeks of use, but that'd be about it.
