...unless the cabinet is reverse veneered with a silicon/silver polymer glue for Audio applications...

I don't know which glue Rega used for the veneer on my R3 cabinets but they are veneered on the inside.

The Rega cabinets were/are still made by Timberworx in Sheffield (a subsidiary of REL and cabinet suppliers to Spendor and AVI amongst others).
