I looking for an Arcam cd player for my Arcam Diva A 65 plus amplifier and Quad 11 L classic speakers

Which one would be the most musical (but not boring) player?

Arcam Diva CD 72

Arcam Diva CD 73

Arcam FMJ CD 17

Thank you for response

The Diva range was the match for the 65 amp physically.

So if you want an all matching system the 72 or 73 would be the choice.

I recall the cd73t getting rave reviews back in the day. ...

I used to own a cd192 and it's really very good and without any problems.

Having owned the A65+ and the CD73T I can highly recommend the combo but...

Arcam, I believe, stopped making it in 2006 so I would look at the CD17. A little more detail than the 73 and not bloated in the midrange IMO.

The CD17 is a very good CD player and I agree with PP about the mid-range of the CD73. It can be a bit 'honeyed' at times, whereas the CD17 has a cleaner balance across the frequency range. Both very fine players, but the CD17 was definitely a step forward for Arcam.

Thank you for all response, it seems to me that FMJ 17 would be a better choice than 72 or 73

I believe so. Whilst none of these players is 'bad' there have been improvements made to DACs and their algorithms so it would make sense to buy the most recent. This would also apply to their longevity.

Good idea, but I have an USB dac for my pc, Arcam cd players have a very good dac , enough for me.

A good standalone dac is very expensive
