Hi

I miss the old days well the mid 90's anyway - when you could buy 1 big system like the Technics, Aiwa and Sony take it home set it up and with 1 remote control use it

I can't find anything like tht anymore all I see is micro systems with little power

If anyone knows of such a system please let me know - otherwise it's seperates with remotes all over the place or a micro with some bookshelf speakers and a sub

p.s. I still have my full proper hifi set up in the living room but I need another one with 1 remote for the other room for the rest of the family so they don't mess with mine

The A-S2000 weighs 50lbs and it even has those retro, late 1970s style wooden end-pieces. (And the A-S1000/2000 CD-S1000/2000 components sound great according to all the reviews I have read so far.)

Just waiting for them to resurrect the NS-1000M speakers and bring out a massive direct drive turntable. (A matching T-S1000/2000 tuner with backlit tuning scale and signal strength meter would be great!)

In the meantime here is some classic 'Big Hifi' to enjoy....

(Don't worry the site is perfectly wholesome and work/family friendly despite the dodgy name!)

If the remote is the problem, then you should look at: http://whathifi.com/Review/Logitech-Harmony-555/

Thanks people - I think I will have to get an amp, CD player and a DAB tuner but I would like one remote to do it all so a learning remote would be great thank you for pointing that out

It's ironic that my little Sony micro in the bedroom has just given up as I'm ready to purchase grrrr!!! So I'll be looking for a micro too now - it's not good for my wallet!

I think the NAD system from superfi should do the job now that I'm looking for a micro too - will the NAD be able to play loud with the Tannoy F1 or should I get the 9.1's or maybe even the MA BR2's? which sub for £200? oh and what DAB tuner should I go for? Finally which micro system should I go for? I like the look of the TEAC DR300DAB as it has a DVD player, a DAB tuner, USB port and 50w p/c of power - I like my music to be played with punch and I love having the power there for when I just want to blast my new "in the zone" track

Sorry for all the questions but your the poeple to come to

hi mate good choice go for the nad is a bargain regarding the speakers i have a nad c352 amp and c542 cd player with monitor audio br5 speakers if the br2s ssound half as good you are in for a treat . the br2s are 90db sesistivity and 6 ohm impediance so they are easy to drive so with the nad amp it will be loud so no worry there. as for a micro the teac is good but if you can try the new denon not sure the model dmr 50 i think check last months whf for a glowing review.. hope this helps p.s dont forget good cables for your speakers and interconnect they make a huge difference for a little cash about 20 for interconnect and 20 for speaker cable in my opinion avoid qed speaker cable with the nad they have glowing reviews but i found sound a bit bright with nad and m.a speakers.. cheers

Thank you

I will purchase the NAD combo soon and maybe get rid of the speakers in favour of the MA's

Now I just need a DAB tuner and a good sub but I'll struggle to get something really good for £200 I like the look of the EPOS sub at Superfi

I have looked into the Denon and I like it very much but it doesn't have a DVD player and has less power than the TEAC - would the Denon drive speakers loud even though it has 20w p/c less than the TEAC - I think I will get a pair of 9.1 for the micro system as they are said to be better than the Tannoys

Thank you again and anymoe help would be great
