I don't expect any drop in star ratings but wondering if enhancement has caused any issue to sound.

We've got the new iPod Classic, Touch, Shuffle and Nano in, and will be publishing first tests of all in Awards issue (out October 16th) - i'm sure we'll put some reviews online before that, too.

I think people will not be interested in visiting WHFSV if you plan to review a product which is widely available in the market and you already have in your hands, so late. Most of the major websites like CNET, ILounge etc have already published extensive reviews.

In today's most competitive world people want to see who wins the race first, with all due respect to WHFSV I know dedicated die hard WHF readers like me know the review will be based on the sonic performance and as accurate as possible and I will give it ratings over any other website but still waiting for over a month is too painful.

Are there any dates available for online publishing?

Different markets, different priorities.

We would have had a review up by now, but we have to spread our priorities over a much wider range of kit at this crucial Awards judging time - and sadly we don't have limitless staff. And we don't rush out reviews, either!

iPod reviews will be up on Monday...

Right, guess I know what I'll be doing first thing on Monday morning then!

And BTW, like Clare, I'm sitting at my desk on a sunny Saturday afternoon, posting to the Forums and about to publish another 'Exclusive WHF?SV Review' on the site. That's the kind of dedication you don't necessarily get from all our competitors...

Review seems to be up now and still a 5 star rating for the 120Gb classic which is good as I have one in my bag that I have just bought!

Strangely the review mentions improved sound quality over the previous classics. Can't see any reason why this would be as I have seen no mention anywhere of any changes on the audio side (just new HDD and Genius). I guess subtle changes may have been made to signal path or software processing but would be interested to know if this is the case or whether this is just (shudder to think) the reviewer hearing something that isn't there.

Anyone know anything I don't about changes?

It''s probably down to our notoriously dead listening rooms. Another Devil's Advocaat, vicar...?

When any product changes - and let's face it, this Classic is slimmer and has a different hard drive - it may effect performance, let alone Apple tweaking as well as changing the components it uses.

Several reviewers (separately and as a group, using both several sets of headphones AND the player's connector in a range of docking systems) noted the differences between this year's Classic and last year's model.

But no matter - it's a cracking player.

Hi Clare,

Any idea when will the reviews of new Ipod Nano and Touch ready to be published?
