Slightly off tack, I seem to remember paying around £250 for the NTSC Star Wars Box set on laserdisc (was great looking for the time though), and being well chuffed for getting a copy at that price!!! Regularly payed over £60 for NTSC import films, no wonder 1-2 films a month was the max. And we used to spend a fortune when on holiday on the states, because they seemed so cheap. Got very little for any of the discs when I sold my collection several years ago

What a great album Famous Blue Raincoat is!! Sadly, I've only got that on cd myself....

my most expensive single cd purchase was Roger Waters' Amused To Death, £72 for the gold long-box edition.
