Hello All,

I am spoiling myself after a long save and would like to know what people think is the best TV to get for around £2000, or even projector setup.

I appreciate what you have to say as it is a lot of money to me so i would like to know that with your tech heads that i make the right choice.

Thanks for reading i look forward to your recommendations.

Dave.

I don't think that there is any real answer to your question, you just have to do your own research and you probably know by now how confusing the whole issue is. I'm in a similar situation.

I have seen Pioneer and Panasonic systems side by side on SD and Pioneer are the clear winner however I have a redundant Sky dish (got fed up paying Murdoch lots of dosh for very little quality broadcasting) so Freesat HD is the preferred way for me. My BT vision box will output terrestrial freeview on 720 or 1080i so either way, normal channels should be of reasonable quality. I will want to record BBC and ITV HD content and the BT box will not be upgraded any time soon so a Freesat recorder is a must have (autumn 2008 ?). I also want a very good upscaling Blu Ray so I can get the most out of my DVD collection. If you are thinking along the same lines then this will leave you about £1400 left to play with.

Good luck !

Thanks for that. I too also like the idea of the Panasonic with the freesat. Now that they have brought it out i am wondering if any one else is going to do the same. The 6 series Samsung looks a good one. I have even thought about a HD projector but not sure how they compare to either LCD or Plasma.

It would be nice to know what others have got and how pleased they are with their choice.

My system would be whatvever TV or Projector connected to BT Vision and a PS3 I dont have SKY but am interested in Freesat.

Thanks

Dave
