What Yamaha amplifier for my system?

Hi there.
Actually have Yamaha avr rx-a2040.
What yamaha or marantz stereo amp should I buy to get an important improvement from my monitor audio rx6 speakers?

Budget £500.

The AV receiver you have is of the upper price/ range level. I am sure if it was set up for stereo sound it should at the very least match anything in the 500 pounds bracket

When it came to two-channel music, the Yamaha delivered enough impact to make it exciting but retained a subtlety to its top end that is unusual for a mass market receiver.
