Tbh, there's not a huge amount of difference (that I've heard) in sub cables. Personally, I would want to spend anymore than £40. Chord Crimson would suffice!

Buy some pro cable for < £10 from ebay. That's what will have been used in the studio to master anything you might be listening to. Buy some blu rays with what you saved :)

Very good advice.

Don't get ripped off by the snake oil pedlars.

QED Signature, worth every penny. Stonking cable. Before you upgrade your cable though, i would buy a granite chopping board to place your sub on. The best upgrade for your money there is!

Hi Gander, where did you get your granite chopping board from and how much was it ?

I'm afraid I'm not Gander, but there's one on sale here:

They can be very effective, along with a mains cable like the Copper line Alpha from Clearer Audio....on sale at the moment here (scroll down the list a bit):

That board looks good and surprisingly cheap. I winder if it would be ok to support 2 x M&K 350's subs which are quite heavy.

I don't think the weight would be a problem, but I think the sub dimensions might be: 15.3" x 20" (39cm x 51cm). The granite is 30cm x 40cm, so you would need 2 (side by side) per sub. Try one sub first, to see how you get on.

ps: for those i would go to a local stone mason / specialist and get him to make you up a couple that are thicker, heavier and cut to size. Would still be worth it IMHO.

Unfortunetly i can't have them side by for space reasons. I did have one on one side of the room, but they sound better together. And as they stand at the moment one is on top of the other, that's why i was concerned about the weight.

In that case I would use one of these on the bottom, which are better than Granite anyway, and are rated to 300 lbs:
