Hello

I have a question about which sub to choose.

I usually use What Hifi as a reference of what to buy but I don’t know what is the best in my case now

My setup is is Kef Q7, IQ3 Surround Q9 Center NAD T773 Receiver a Marantz DV7001 DVD and a KEF PSW 2000 subwoofer

I would like to replace de KEF sub for the Monitor Audio RSW12 or the Velodyne SPL-800i.

Most of the time I listen to music DVD and CD(all kinds of music)

My question is which of the 2 subs would be the best to upgrade the (musical) Low quality And would it make a big difference

Thank you for the answer

Are you limited to these 2 subs, (I've not heard either of them unfortunately so can't advise)?

The BK and SVS subs seem very well-regarded by many people and it looks like would be in your budget.

No but I read about these two in the magazine and they had a good review

Most of the time I start my search in the what hifi magazine

I would like to spend around ?1000 maybe a little bit more or less.

For me music is more important then movie and. I know that the KEF Q7 is already older but there is no budget to upgrade them and I still do like the sound of them . But a little bit more (fast) low would be enough for me at this moment

thnx

IMO you'd be worth while looking at the B&W PV1 as well.

I've got this with my B&W XT surround sound system and its SUPERB with music DVD's etc...

Very fast and agile and hits superb depths that make my fillings rattle!

Andrew Everard:Of the two you mention, and given your requirements, I'd go for the Monitor Audio.

I just orderded the Monitor Audio. Only by review and recommendation so I am very curious and hope it's a good choice

I let you all know how it sounds when it's arrived

Thank you for the feed back

This morning I got my MA. I must say that this is what I missed with my kef /nad combi I think they fit my Q7 well but I don't no so much of sound as the most of you.

I have put some music dvd (Metallica Eagles Bocelli and faithless live at alexandra palace) in my panasonic bd80 and I was very happy with the sound. I use my Marantz DV7001 for cd en sacd at this moment that sounded very good to although the volume on the sub must set lower as with the panasonic. With U 571 I was impressed almost blown away

So thanks again for the advice
