WHAT SETTINGS ARE BEST FOR PS3 FOR 5.1 SOUND!

Hi, want to check if my settings are correct for the ps3 to run 5.1 through my amp (Yamaha RX-

V667) Im using HDMI connection. Ive a fat ps3 60gb! Cheers guys!

As the fat ps3 will not bit stream HD sound keep the settings to lpcm and you'll be fine.

I disagree with dirtys advice

Your amp should do a better job of decoding DTS and DOLBY DIGITAL so have it bitstreaming for those and PCM for HD material

for best compatibility u set the sound to be LPCM over hdmi.

I agree with aliEnRIK but you will have to keep on swapping and changing the settings, this is what I did and it got on my nerves you put a film on then find out its on the wrong setting and have to stop the film and change it. In the end I bought a Sony BDP 370 so I could bit stream everything.
