Funnily enough one of the stages I've enjoyed the most so far is choosing an auditioning list totalling 10 of my current favourite songs and consisting of some different music styles - harder to choose than I thought and I reckon it's worth doing this every now and then whether you plan to audition anything or not.

This by the way was mine (in no order of preference):

1. In the Air Tonight (Phil Collins) - live

2. The Letter (Box Tops)

3. Baby Can I Hold You (Tracy Chapman)

4. The Flower Duet (All Angels). Stop sniggering.

5. Voices (Dario G)

6. Paper Romance (Groove Armada)

7. Teenage Crime (Adrian Lux)

8. E=MC2 (Big Audio Dynamite)

9. Are Friends Electric? (Gary Numan & Tubeway Army)

10. Be The One (The Ting Tings)

I said stop sniggering............!

One thing I do know is that my list will change fairly regularly and REM's Find the River would have got in there also if time allowed.

Interested to see yours?

Tchaikovsky violin concerto - Janine Jansen

Peer Gynt - Barbirolli

Carmina Burana - there's many different versions, but they surely work out whether the dynamics of you speaker are good or not

Norah Jones - Come away with me. Great production, music's a bit bland

AC/DC - Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheat (you've gotta have some fun in an audition after all)

Asteroid Galaxy Tour - poor compressed production lets you see how a system deals with bad recordings.

That's it.

I don't have a top ten as such but there are several tracks I like to try and then I see what I feel like playing after those, see where the system takes me.

November Rain - Guns n' Roses live

Refuse to Dance - Celine Dion

Yoda's Theme – Star Wars

The Power of Good-bye – Madonna

Chasing Sheep – Michael Nyman

Drive – Royal Philharmonic Orchestra Plays the Music of REM

Oxygene (Part IV) – Hank Marvin version

A classical CD, depending on what I've been listening to recently

Might take a dance music CD, but don't often listen to that music any more

Maybe another CD that I've been listening to lots recently

A few other CD's to test aspects of the system depending on how those tracks sound

That lot will keep me busy previewing..........

Mr Penguin, I know from what you've said you don't swap out much so may not have an auditioning list but what would your top 10 auditioning tunes be if you were to pull one together? I'm enjoying trying out new tunes.....
