What large screen TV with Freesat to buy?

I retired to live in France now now need to replace my TV. So I'll be returning to the UK soon to get a large screen LCD TV with Freesat. I've been trying to get information about the best TVs to view whilst I'm there but have read conflicting reviews on two TVs that seem to be suitable, namely the Sony 52 inch model KDL 52V5810 and the LG 47 inch model LF 7700. The sound quality of the LG seems to be an issue whilst the LED 'backed' LCD screen seems to be very good. Sony however seem to still be having problems with the picture quality. Can anyone please give me some guidance before I return to the UK to buy ?

The two main requirements for the LCD are large screen (minimum 46 inch) and a Freesat decoder to as to get HD programme channels here in France. Are there any other 'contenders' apart from the two TVs I mentioned? Many thanks.

Just to mention that I have checked out the 'best buys' on this site, but the recent model TVs I mention are not quoted there. Thanks to anyone who can help me in my quest.

I know it is not what you asked for, but have you considered buying a humax freesat PVR? The PVR is very useful and it widens your range of TVs considerably. I am very happy with my humax/pioneer 5090 combination.

You may wish to consider the Panasonic 50V10 and 50G10 Plasmas, both of which include Freesat.

Alternatively, you might think about waiting for the new line up of tvs to be released in a few months time. There may (or may not) be more TVs with built-in Freesat tuners available then.

I've just bought a Sony KDL37W5500 here in France from Boulanger but I suspect that is not big enough for you!

I would buy a Freesat+ box (I 've got Humax fressat PVR) as this works great for recording, pausing live braodcasts etc even with only one feed). Box is also much smaller for transporting from UK!
