Read that a while ago and still makes me sad.

Still got my first – and undoubtedly last – plasma which I had been hoping to replace in maybe another couple of years but obviously not now. I’ve no idea what their joint venture with Sony in to OLED TVs may bring but not likely to be affordable in my lifetime.

Interesting, i wonder where that leaves samsung and lg plasmas.

It's not quite dead yet! When Jules from Displaycalibration calibrated my tv, he stated that currently & for the next year the samsung rep had told him samsung are still producing plasma, & if they develop on the f8500 it should be something special, but it's only time before they put the nail in the coffin
