What is the best tv for DVD watching?

not into blu ray yet cause in my country Malaysia is very expensive US30 even dvds US20 & no frills dvd US8-10 in 2007 when a 32 inch 720p lcd costs USD1000, i bought a 32 inch slimfit 720p/1080i 100hz samsung crt for US500 so i would like to replace it since now 2012 tv is super cheap but not ready for blu ray or 3D. at stores blu ray look good on tv but dvd looks crappy even on 50 inch fullhd 150hz led but somehow it look easy on eye on their 21 inch 50hz crt display. recommendations? led/lcd/plasma? hd/fullhd? does 2D convert to 3D tv makes a difference on DVD?

Get a Full HD plasma its cheaper now. DVD looked awful on LCD / LED

3D convert with DVD? For fun yes go for it.
