And, does anyone know why it is the only thing that comes up when I go into the audio settings on my Dark Knight BluRay?

This may be an incredibly simplistic (and wrong) answer - is it merely an on/off toggle for sounds made when pressing a button on the remote?

Might be

I'll check when I can.

Clare Newsome:And if you're looking for the disc's soundtrack options, I believe they're under the "Languages" menu

Ahem. Thanks Clare. Is it me though, or does that make little sense?

No it doesn't, but it's a bit of a "feature" of Warner BDs...

If you have your players audio set to mix. It turns on/off the sounds created when selecting options. There are a few discs which have this facility. Hancock and Wall-E are others that spring to mind.

Clare Newsome:Yep, along with them often defaulting to lesser soundtracks unless you play 'find the HD audio'

Yes, fun isn't it

- I sometimes miss the simplicity of DVD menus...

You may well find your Blu-ray player's remote control has an Audio button - this is normally the easiest way to ensure you've got the HD audio soundtrack selected I find as it doesn't involve hunting around the menus!

EDIT - ah, posted this before your response there. Yes, use the Audio button!

Sorry to bump this but, about BluRays defaulting to whatever format: Is this regardless of the hardware you use or is it possible to have an amp that chooses the best format? A friend thinks this is what happens in his system...

He uses a PS3 and the Sony DH800 I think.
