Indeed Kevin, you are a star - and the mix of savoury and sweet was spot-on. Mmmmm, Twiglets

No problem. Sorry I couldn't track down any Worcester Sauce Twiglets but I hope the Chili flavour peanuts are a suitable substitute for those after a particularly manly snackage.

K.

Indeed. The peanuts-on-a-hanger was a particular blast-from-the-past from my days as a teenage barmaid. Though KP seem to have removed the pictures of comely ladeez from the cardboard backing sometime in the intervening years

That's political correctness for you I'm afraid, although in a slightly tongue-in-cheek move the carded KP Pork Scratchings have a rather saucy picture of a particularly curvy pig in pink stockings on the card!! Nice!

Regarding your days as a teenage barmaid if anyone makes any comments I fear this thread could go wayyyyyyyyyy off topic! I guess we all had to start somewhere...I bet most of your contributors careers started, somehow or other, in a pub!

You read my mind - finger hovering over the delete button right now
ooo isn't that clever, when you type a v f o r u m s, it says 'another site'
Well, it is another site. Allegedly...
That does it, am off to another site..............

Actually, if anybody's in the Teddington Arms tonight...
I'm on that other site too (same name)!

I must say as I was driving to your offices I was wondering which of the plethora of lovely 'traditional' pubs within walking distance of WHFS&V towers might attract the haymarket in-crowd. I guessed all of them!!

Nah, Andrew's fussy, nothing good enough for him. Ever since they moved offices and the Adelaide wasn't in walking distance.........

I know they say you can't judge a book by it's cover but his picture says to me 'pint of bishops finger, packet of pork scratchings, and anyone who wants to watch sport can go to a "bar"' !!! Is that too harsh!?

Actually, given that I drive into work every day, I tend not to visit any of the local pubs. The Adelaide? Don't think I've been there or the Queen Dowager for getting on for 10 years...

Wrong on almost all counts. Very occasional pint of Adnams Broadside, or an Asahi Black in the right places - most of which are about 6500 miles east of here -, hold the scratchings and anyone who wants to watch sport can go and stand in a stadium for all I care.
