I have a question regarding the review: http://www.whathifi.com/review/pioneer-bdp-lx55

Several months ago when I was in the market for a Blu-ray player I saw in What-hifi that the Pioneer bdp-LX55 got a 5 star score. Now I see that the bdp-LX 55 has a 4-star score.

Also on the site of Pioneer they point out the 5 star score.

http://www.pioneer.eu/eur/products/42/84/222/BDP-LX55/page.html

Why has What-hifi change the score from a 5 star to a 4 star score?

It'll be because the Pioneer has subsequently been group tested against newer competitors which have improved, so the Pioneer is now only a 4 star machine in comparison to those newer rivals.

It's quite common, WHF do it quite a lot, star ratings are all relative to the competition, so are liable to change as the field improves.

Lost its star in a group test against other Blu-ray players which had better all round capabilities. The players it lost it stars to were the Sony 790 and Panasonic 500 ( I think).
