Having read What Hi-Fi? for ten years now I've always wondered What Hi-Fi the editorial team have?
Perhaps Clare can shed some light.

Okay thanks. Sorry I didn't see that but I'm new to the forum. Clare didn't actually say what system she currently has.

You got a nice setup by the way!

Here's the most recent set-up:

InFocus IN82 projector

Planar X Screen 80in projection screen

Sky HD

Sony PlayStation 3 (plus Pioneer DV-757Ai DVD player for multiregion discs...)

Onkyo TX-NR905 receiver

Mordaunt Short Performance 6 fronts and centre; four small rear surrounds

B&W PV1 subwoofer

Densen B-420 CD player (though am currently long-term testing the Cyrus CDxtse/DAC-X for disc issues)

Quad 99/909 pre/power amps

Clearaudio Performance turntable

Revox B77 Mark II
Nakamichi Dragon

Apple Time Machine/Apple Airport Express for music streaming from Macbook laptops

Very nice Clare!

Out of interest what cables do you use in your system? Do you use a mains conditioner?

I would never have guessed that Clare had a turntable!

And a cassette deck. I cannot even give away my Yamaha KX-580. (Not a figure of speech. I really have tried to give it away.)

I'd be disappointed if she didn't!

The reel to reel recorder did surprise me though. I wonder what she uses it for..

Nice long 'warm' recordings for Sunday morning lie-ins I seem to recall her saying once.

Absolutely - Sunday papers and lots of lovely analogue compilations....

Turntable also gets a thorough workout at weekends.

Re cables - really diverse mix of stuff that changes with any changes to my system. Main interconnects are the superb Chord Chorus 2, and there's more Chord, QED, Clearer Audio, Atlas and all sorts in there.

And as the mains quality/wiring isn't the best in my flat, i've got a mains conditioning/surge protection block for the main stack.
