What difference would there be if....

..... I upgraded my 7 yr old Yamaha RXV440 6.1 surround amp to a new Yamaha / Sony amp with HDMI?

I've recently purchased a sony BSP350 and it sounds pretty good through my AE Neo's so how much more should I expect from a newer amp? Would it justify spending £4/500+ ?
