What connections to use for what?

Looking at a new Plasma/LCD TV and note that they either come with 2 or 3 HDMI sockets (although the third is usually on the side so I would say precludes it from use with a permanent connection). If as must be typical of many owners you have a decoder (e.g. Sky), a games console (e.g. PS3) and a modern DVD/Home Cinema system and only have 2 HDMI connections to play with which do you use for which device? Assuming HDMI is best (?) is it a case of component video for the last connection? What do people recommend?

All the HDMI inputs will give the same quality, so i'd use the side one for the ganes console and the other two for sky and DVD
