What cable do i need to connect mp3 player to micro hi fi?

Hi guys on the back of my mums micro hi fi, there is one audio input connection, whereas a seperates amp has 2 connections one for the left and one for the right channel, therefore just wondering what type of cable i will need for the micro system to be hooked up to the mp3 player. (not an ipod)

Sounds like a 3.5mm line-in to me - in which case you'd just need a 3.5mm-3.5mm phono lead (AKA a mini-jack to mini-jack cable).
